Thank you for making this possible!
I had the honor of being a Vegatinos scholarship recipient in 2019 during which I was a financially stressed graduate student. I was eligible to apply to become a “legal US resident” at this time, but I could not afford the hefty application fees. The Vegatinos scholarship helped me save enough money to apply for adjustment of my legal status. The support the Vegatinos scholarship provides for first-generation students (many of whom are undocumented) is exemplary and cannot be understated!
“Hello, My name is Juan Vieyra and I was the recipient of the 2020 scholarship organized by Vegatinos. I was extremely blessed to receive the scholarship, because during that part of my education I was struggling economically. This happened during the time I was completing my Spanish Master’s Degree. In addition, winning the $3,000 scholarship award, helped me to pay for part of my school tuition, books, and travel expenses. Now, I am working as a high school teacher at EPIC De Cesar Chavez High School: helping the adult population to complete their high school diploma. Thank you Vegatinos, for the support and for helping me reach my professional goals.”
